How it works

01
Open the post or Reel
Find the Instagram food content you want to keep. Tap the paper-plane Share button below the post.
02
Tap Share → Pantree
In the iOS share sheet, scroll to find Pantree and tap it. If you don't see it, tap 'More' and enable Pantree from your share sheet apps.
03
Recipe imported automatically
Pantree reads the caption and video transcript to extract the recipe name, ingredients, steps, and cook time. Takes a few seconds.
04
Cook it — whenever you're ready
The recipe lives in your Pantree library forever. Pantree checks your pantry and tells you if you already have everything you need.

Why bookmarks and saves aren’t enough

Instagram’s built-in save feature stores posts inside the app — but you can’t search by ingredient, there’s no step-by-step format, and if the creator deletes or archives the post, it’s gone. Screenshots pile up in your camera roll with no labels. DMs get buried under other conversations.

Pantree converts the post into a structured recipe: a proper ingredient list with quantities, numbered steps, and cook time. It lives in your recipe library alongside everything else you’ve saved — from TikTok, food blogs, handwritten cards, or typed from memory.

What Pantree extracts from Instagram

  • Recipe name — from the post caption or Reel title
  • Ingredients — with quantities where mentioned
  • Step-by-step instructions — in order
  • Cook time and serving size — where available
  • Source credit — the original Instagram creator is saved with the recipe

One library for every platform

Most households find recipes across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, food blogs, and group chats — all at once. Pantree is the one place they all land. Save from any source, search everything by ingredient, and get a clear answer to “what can I actually cook tonight?” based on what’s already in your pantry.

Common questions

Does Pantree work with Instagram Reels, posts, and Stories?
Pantree works with Instagram Reels and public posts. Stories disappear after 24 hours so they can't be shared via link — but you can share any saved Highlight or copy a Reel link directly. For content someone sent you in a DM, tap the post to open it fully, then use the share icon.
What if someone sent me a recipe in an Instagram DM?
Tap the post inside the DM to open it, then tap the share icon and choose Pantree (or copy the link and paste it in Pantree). Pantree will import the recipe from the original post.
How many Instagram recipes can I save?
Free Pantree users can import 10 recipes per month from any source, including Instagram. Premium users get unlimited imports. You can always add recipes manually with no limit.
Can I save Instagram recipes on Android?
Pantree is currently available on iOS only. Android support is planned for a future release.
What if the recipe only partially imports?
Some posts have minimal caption text, which means Pantree may only extract part of the recipe. You can tap any field in the imported recipe to edit it — add missing ingredients, fix steps, or adjust quantities.
